Holyhead Harbour on Anglesey is an important port.It's ferry companies handle over 2 million passengers a year across the Irish Sea to Dublin and Dun Laoghaire.It is busy with road haulage from the continent because of it's access to the motorway and rail network.
The Breakwater is two and a half mile long a makes a safe harbour for vessels caught in stormy seas on their way to liverpool and other ports in the area.It has now been deepend to take cruise ships, which is an ideal stopover for tourist to take short trips into Wales's wonderfull and varied countryside.
