Llyn Trawsfynydd is a man made reservoir near Trawsfynydd village in Gwynedd.it is 1180 acres in area and is longer than Wales's largest natural lake Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake).It was built to supply water for Maentwrog Hydro Electricity Power Station in 1928 and was later used to cool the twin nuclear reactors at Trawsfynydd Power Station now in the process of decommisioning
